Since 1936 it was atop number 1, and in 2009 it was granted a pardon to remain atop the building in perpetuity. Come 2012 and Apple renovates the building for its new store and in the process the Tio Pepe sign was taken down. Three years later (2014) it was relit at number 11, its current home.
